Research Assistant, University of Sydney
Assisted in encoding work for two ongoing research projects at the Department of Media and Communications in the University of Sydney under Associate Professor Timothy Dwyer and Associate Professor Fiona Martin.
Editor, The Philippine Star
I produced the Saturday pop culture section with the national broadsheet The Philippine Star, leading a team of writers, illustrators, and photographers to complete a lineup of stories for the section every week. I made editorial decisions on the entire section, commissioning contributors, attended events, represented the title, collaborated with the advertising team, and launched content on our social media channels.
Associate Features Editor, Esquire Philippines
I started as an editorial assistant with Esquire and became associate features editor in 2016. Under this title, I was trained by the country’s best literary writers, I assisted top journalists with research, and collaborated with renowned artists and photographers. I specialized in long-form feature writing, conducted in-depth interviews, and produced photoshoots. I developed stories from concept to execution and oversaw logistics for shoots. Some of my work has been picked up in international editions of Esquire magazine.
Contributing Lifestyle Editor, Preview Magazine
I was selected to be the standing editor of the lifestyle section of the Philippines' leading fashion magazine, Preview. I became in charge of the entire section and oversaw its execution and production. I assigned and worked closely with a pool of writers, artists, and photographers to complete the section.
Account Manager, Publicis Manila Inc.
I represented the multi-national advertising agency in client servicing and managed accounts of NESCAFÉ to produce both above-the-line and below- the-line advertising campaigns. I constantly liaised with the clients and creatives. I was on top of project management and produced minutes for all meetings, issued job orders for the creatives, managed cost estimates, organised the files of our projects and did weekly internal updates for the agency.
Columnist, The Philippine Star
For seven years, I penned a column with the national broadsheet The Philippine Star first as a student journalist at Young Star and later as editor of PhilStar Supreme.
